For many people with ADHD, the first line of treatment is medication. However, in some cases, medication may not be desirable. For example, it may be unsuitable for a particular person with a certain medical history, or the person may discover that the medication causes unpleasant side effects for them. In some cases, parents may simply decide that they would prefer not to place their child on medications if at all possible.
Regardless of whether a person is or isn’t taking medications, therapy can help. Our mental health counselors are trained to empower our clients with the tools and mental resources they need to manage symptoms like inattentiveness, impulsiveness, and distractibility. Furthermore, many of our therapists have particular expertise and experience working with neurodivergent clients.
