As a clinician, Jared believes that everyone has unique resiliency within themselves, the capacity for growth, and the ability to achieve self-actualization. Through counseling, people can identify and develop their innate strengths and resources to move beyond past experiences, overcome current challenges, and become the versions of themselves that they want to be. He completed his master’s in counseling at Prescott College, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Counseling and is currently working on a Registered Play Therapist certification.
Jared works with people across the life span but specializes in working with children between the ages of 6-17. His approach to therapy is primarily informed by Person-Centered, Adlerian, and Gestalt theoretical orientations. When working with kids, Jared primarily uses a play-based approach. Children communicate through play and it is important, in order to see real change, to meet them where they are and in a way that they can best express themselves.
